Budapest is famous for its thermal baths and that was one of the main reasons why we went there in winter. But other than that there is so much to discover: ruin bars, great food & wine, amazing concerts, walks along the Danube, and so much more.
Get there by train from Munich to Budapest Keleti (7:15h) – take the first class ticket for just a few Euros more and slow down as soon as the journey starts.
Stay in any hotel/airbnb close to the train station wherever you find good offers. The Three Corners Hotel Bristol was great value.

4th day – Walking tour from City Park to Andrassy Ut
- Visit @ city park – the largest artificial ice surface in Europe, @ Hero’s square and its millennium monument, @ Andrassy Ut (Avenue) – lined with spectacular neo-renaissance mansions (World Heritage Site in 2002) and one of Budapest’s main shopping streets, with fine cafes, restaurants, theatres, and luxury boutiques.

- Lunch @ Köles – Budapest’s first gluten free restaurant
